Consultations

How Dogwood Hub Advisory consultations work — fit calls, preparation, session formats, and what to expect before booking an engagement.

How consultations fit our work

Every advisory engagement begins with a consultation — a structured conversation to understand your business stage, constraints, and whether our services match your needs. Consultations are not sales presentations. They are working conversations that may end with a recommended next step, a referral elsewhere, or a clear no if timing is wrong.

Initial fit call

The first step is a 20-minute phone or video call at no charge. We ask about your staff count, revenue bands, pending decisions, and what prompted you to reach out. You can ask about fees, timelines, and which service fits. If a Growth Strategy Session, Positioning Review, or Readiness Audit is appropriate, we outline preparation and send a written quote.

In-depth consultation before booking

For audits and positioning reviews, a paid scoping consultation ($220, credited toward the project fee if you proceed within thirty days) may be recommended when multiple sites or complex ownership structures are involved. This session clarifies boundaries, access needs, and interview requirements.

What to prepare

Bring or send ahead: a brief description of your business, your role, the decision keeping you up at night, and any recent profit summary you are comfortable sharing. Exact numbers are helpful but estimates are acceptable for an initial call.

After the consultation

You receive a follow-up email summarising agreed next steps — whether that is a quote, a deferred check-in date, or a recommendation to speak with an accountant or lawyer first. There is no obligation to book after a fit call.
